The VCI is being implemented with support and in partnership with a range of stake holders. Importantly, these are:
The Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth)
The Victorian Community Indicators Project is funded by VicHealth. VicHealth fosters change in the social, economic and physical environments that influence the health of all Victorians. It is an independent statutory body funded by the Victorian Government and managed by a Board of governance.
The Department of Human Services
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is committed to ensuring that all Victorians have access to quality services that protect and enhance the community's physical, mental and social well-being. DHS has contributed financial and advisory support to the VCI Project.
The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV)
The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) is the peak representative and lobbying body for Victoria's 79 councils. MAV’s role is to represent and advocate the interests of local government, lobby for a 'fairer deal' for councils, raise the sector's profile, ensure its long-term security and provide policy advice, strategic advice and insurance services to local government.
The Victorian Local Government Association (VLGA)
The VLGA is a peak body for local governments and community, that empowers local governments by strengthening their capacity to engage with their communities and advocate on their behalf. The VLGA acts as a catalyst for social change.
The Department of Victorian Communities (DVC)
The Department for Victorian Communities (DVC) represents the Victorian Government’s determination to deliver government services in a way that supports and strengthens communities across Victoria through a more integrated approach to planning, funding and delivering services at the local level.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE)
The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) was established on 5 December 2002 to bring together the state's responsibilities for sustainability of the natural and built environment. The convergence of the government's responsibility for the natural and built environments in one department reflects the government's view that environmental issues are not simply about the 'green' environment – it is about every aspect of where and how we live our daily lives. Environmental sustainability is about the whole of Victoria, urban and rural.
